​The Spaghetti Challenge

Pass through every square with one spaghetti noodle, making sure to always:

  • Move to an adjacent square that is above, below, to the right or left of the square

  • Choose the square with the smallest value, when there is a choice

  • Only move through open squares that haven’t been passed through before

Mathigon Polypad

Use Mathigon Polypad as a tool to explore an open-ended task about minimizing perimeter. We displayed everyone's learnings in a "knowledge feed" and we reflected on what made it a low-floor task.

Counting Diagonals

We explored a counting task about diagonals of ever-enlarging squares, and identified questions for future exploration and possible extensions.
